Aleksandra Makarova is the executive director of Adocentyn Films. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Harvard University (2010) and a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. After receiving her Ph.D. she refocused her area of research on Chinese religions, and especially the inner alchemical tradition in medieval Taoism. Her current interests also include ancient theories of aesthetics, the notion of the presence of the divine in material objects, and mystical thought in the Russian Orthodox Tradition. She currently lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband Zeke Mazur and their infant daughter.

Zeke Mazur is a historian of philosophy specializing in Neoplatonism and Gnosticism. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago (2010) and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Philosophy at Université Laval in Québec, Canada, although he lives with Makarova in Cambridge. His additional interests include the intersection between mysticism and eroticism and between discursive philosophy and ritual praxis in the late ancient world.
